Town Center

The Town Center mall recently opened on the South Strip next to Fry’s Electronics, here’s some pics.

Narrow streets complete with parallel parking and a terminal park at the center seem to suggest that the planners know a bit about creating urban environments.

Or at least the appearance of it.

Two large parking structures are on both north and south sides of the large shopping complex.

Tree lined sidewalks and a mixture of architectural styles make the place rather pleasant to wander around.

From Las Vegas Blvd, Town Center does not challenge the city’s street hierarchy. It embraces it in fact with a freeway-like offramp that rises above Las Vegas Blvd and sweeps cars traveling north directly into the parking lot.

Covered sidewalks create a cozy pedestrian realm.

Multiple Architectural styles.
