UNLV Roundup

It has been quite a semester here at UNLV. In light of the Las Vegas Rodeo going on at the Thomas and Mack, here’s a visual roundup of how the campus has continued to evolve.

The above photo is of the completed southern section of the new Moyer Student Union. The balloons were due to a sorority pledge event.

The outdoor amphitheater was temporarily sectioned off for two weeks in October to let the grass recover after a hot, dry summer.

Solar panels have been added to Greenspun Hall. It is expected to be completed by next fall semester, although budget cuts may push the date back.

The Student Recreation and Wellness Center opened in October. The 5 story athletic complex has arenas, courts, a running track, swimming pools, lots of workout machines and a snack bar with in and outdoor seating.

The new Science and Engineering Building is also expected to open by next fall.

The campus’ first statue, mascot Hey Reb, stands guard outside the Tam Alumni Center.

The north side of the new MSU has become a hub of campus activity and people-watching.

Leid Library remains a central gathering and studying area, and is rather photogenic.
